The focus for this spiritual exercise has been on the Lord\u2019s Prayer. Each day I have been guided to meditate\/focus on a specific line from the prayer in <a title=\"   9       Pray then like this:     \u201cOur Father in heaven,     hallowed be your name.     10       Your kingdom come,     your will be done,     on earth as it is in heaven.     11       Give us this day our daily bread,     12       and forgive us our debts,     as we also have forgiven our debtors.     13       And lead us not into temptation,     but deliver us from evil. (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), Mt 6:9\u201313.\" href=\"http:\/\/biblia.com\/books\/esv\/Mt6.1\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 6:9-13.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meditation is not sitting on the floor chanting <strong><em>ooga booga<\/em><\/strong>. It\u2019s chewing on, centralizing your heart, continuing to return to a thought over and over again until it is ingrained within you.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, it\u2019s everything bad about worrying, but used for the forces of good. Yeah, that\u2019s about it&#8230; meditation is positive worrying&#8230; if that\u2019s even possible.<\/p>\n<p>While every line from the prayer is worthy of daily focus, I have not been able to get around the first line. Even though I need to move on, I feel like God isn\u2019t done with me as it relates to these 4 little words:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOur Father in heaven&#8230;\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here\u2019s what meditation on this sentence fragment is revealing to me: my God is willing and able.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Father &#8211;<\/strong> As my Father I know He wants to <!--more-->provide for me, protect me, encourage me, support me, promote me, shelter me, grow me, hold me, cover me, stand up for me, correct me, make me become everything He ever wanted me to be!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/one-church.net\/crosseyedlife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/20110914-120427.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/one-church.net\/crosseyedlife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/20110914-120427.jpg\" alt=\"20110914-120427.jpg\" width=\"307\" height=\"461\" \/><\/a>I know this is true because I am a father.<\/p>\n<p>I know this is true because I want these things for my kids.<\/p>\n<p>And, I know this is true because, compared to God I am a jacked up, selfish, broken man, yet, I\u2019d die for my boys without a doubt.<\/p>\n<p>He is the perfect Father. He is willing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Heaven &#8211;<\/strong> As God of the universe He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, the Author of Creation, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, the Great I Am, Sustainer, Miracle Maker, Judge, Lover, Shepherd and Lord. There is nothing beyond the scope of His power because power and authority are defined by who He is.<\/p>\n<p>I know this is true because <a title=\"       55:1       \u201cCome, everyone who thirsts,     come to the waters;     and he who has no money,     come, buy and eat!     Come, buy wine and milk     without money and without price.     2       Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,     and your labor for that which does not satisfy?     Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good,     and delight yourselves in rich food.     3       Incline your ear, and come to me;     hear, that your soul may live;     and I will make with you an everlasting covenant,     my steadfast, sure love for David.     4       Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples,     a leader and commander for the peoples.     5       Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know,     and a nation that did not know you shall run to you,     because of the LORD your God, and of the Holy One of Israel,     for he has glorified you.     6       \u201cSeek the LORD while he may be found;     call upon him while he is near;     7       let the wicked forsake his way,     and the unrighteous man his thoughts;     let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him,     and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.     8       For my thoughts are not your thoughts,     neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.     9       For as the heavens are higher than the earth,     so are my ways higher than your ways     and my thoughts than your thoughts. He is able.<\/p>\n<p>So, I am stuck right here on these four little words.<\/p>\n<p>Because He is my Father and because He is in heaven, He is most definitely willing and able.<\/p>\n<p>So, I\u2019ve made these words my phone wallpaper, I breathe them in and out multiple times a day, I rest in their thought and now I gush them out to you.<\/p>\n<p>Some may call it obsession, but I just call it meditation.<\/p>\n<p>If you can\u2019t find something Godly to focus on this week, try what I have found.<\/p>\n<p>Say it. Write it. Post it. Pray it.
