We all need it…

You are truly a child of the 80s if you immediately went Rick Springfield after reading the title of today’s blog and started singing… The Human Touch.

(Here’s the YOUTUBE video from 1983 if you really wanna go back to high school, but only go after you finish this blog and get your spiritual Wheaties!)

Today I had the opportunity to speak at Central Christian School here in Hutchinson for their weekly chapel service and I wanted to share it with the CrossEyedLife World. I spoke on the issue of the human touch in our Christian faith and was amazed at how well received this message was by those junior high and high schoolers.

So, give it a listen and drop us off a comment. If you want to follow along in your Bible, turn to Acts 9, or just read it below:

26 When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. 28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.

PS: I’ve been asked by several in our faith community how often I speak outside the normal  church schedule like thise occassion above, so, I thought I’d just let you know what the next few week look like just for fun.

I speak 5 times each weekend, plus once on Wednesday night for Adult Bible Study called Surge. I also teach every Monday for Sterling College a course called Servant Leadership, so, let’s start with a base of 7 presentations each week.

Oh baby… punch my martyr card card… I am feeling it!

There will be a few more things pop up on the fly, but here is what I know about as of today :

  • 9-5-08 MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
  • 9-9-08 Speak to Student Atheletes at Sterling College

PSS: I have a favor to ask of the graphically gifted out there. I think the banner of this blog is BORING! If anyone can come up with a banner that uses the above pic (of my youngest son’s eye by the way) and incorporates the CROSS EYED LIFE title somehow… that would be awesome. And, I would pay you huge props on the blog here. So, here is the pic, simply right click to save it and work your magic you little creative geniuses. Just email me back your ideas at andy@crosseyedlife.com

Many blessings guys and I hope you all have a great week!
